Improvements, new features and functionality

  • Configuration

    • Added logging of a crashed report page and of uncaught exceptions on it. Previously the page breaking was silent and the report only failed half an hour later, as a timeout with nothing recording the cause.

    • Added logscale_pdf_render_service_browser_launches and logscale_pdf_render_service_browser_losses metrics, so a browser that keeps crashing and being replaced is visible without reading the logs.

Bug Fixes

    • Fixed an issue where a cold start under concurrent load resulted in launching one browser per in-flight request and leaking all but one.

    • Fixed an issue where if the internal headless browser crashed it required a service restart to get the service to work again. It now self-repairs.

Improvement

  • Administration

    • Errors logged by the report page to the browser console are now logged at ERROR rather than DEBUG, so a page reporting its own failure is visible without enabling debug logging. Other console output, warnings included, stays at DEBUG.
