Checksum
A cryptographic hash value calculated for each data segment in LogScale to verify data integrity and detect corruption. LogScale automatically generates and validates checksums for every segment to ensure that stored data remains unchanged and uncorrupted over time. When segments are moved, the system compares the checksum to the stored value—any mismatch indicates data corruption, triggering appropriate error handling. This mechanism works in conjunction with encryption at rest and data immutability to provide comprehensive data protection, ensuring that log data remains trustworthy and reliable for compliance, security analysis, and operational monitoring.
