Create Dashboards

Security Requirements and Controls

You can create a new dashboard within a repository or view using one of these methods.

  • From the Search page. Creates both a new dashboard and widget simultaneously when you need to save a search query as a widget right away. See Create Widgets for more information.

  • From the Dashboards page. Creates an empty dashboard, best for when you want to:

    • Add multiple widgets later

    • Import an existing dashboard

    • Duplicate a dashboard

To create a new dashboard from the Dashboards page, follow these steps.

  1. In the system tabs' main toolbar, click the Repositories and views tab and pick the repository or view where to create your dashbord.

  2. Select the Dashboards tab from the repository menu bar: the Dashboards Interface will present the list of dashboards, if you have any.

  3. Click the New dashboard button for a new empty dashboard, or click the menu icon next to it to import an existing dashboard:

    • Import from template — create a dashboard based on a template generated from another dashboard. Drag&drop a file or browse your computer to use such template.

    • Import from package — invoke dashboard templates that are part of LogScale packages, provided that such packages are installed in the repository where you want to create the dashboard. For more information on how to install a package and access a package template, see Package Management.

  4. In the Create Dashboard dialog box, provide a name and description for rhe new dashboard. Adding a label in the Labels field will allow filtering dashboards that bear the same label.
