Falcon LogScale Beginner Introduction
Hello, and welcome to Falcon LogScale — we're happy you're here!
Falcon LogScale is a platform designed to store log management information so that you can query and make decisions about security, performance and resilience by studying and reporting on the contents of the log files. The stored data can be used to build graphs, identify anomalies, and create alerts to monitor your systems.
In this guide, we will take you through the steps of using a demonstrative, interacting tutorial while you're trying Falcon LogScale for the first time. You will also learn some preliminary information to Create a Widget, ingest, and use Falcon LogScale to process and search your data. These basics can be applied to production deployments with your own data.
The information provided in this section are intended as an introduction for beginners. Afterward, you want to look at these other sections:
LogScale Tutorials for detailed guidelines and the steps to explore and use all Falcon LogScale components and functionalities
LogScale Overview for an in-depth view of the basic concepts about how Falcon LogScale operates.
When you've completed the full Falcon LogScale training and you're convinced that Falcon LogScale is for you, you can contact us to help you to integrate it into your production system.
Deploying Falcon LogScale
Falcon LogScale is available using two primary deployment methods, Falcon LogScale Cloud or Falcon LogScale Self-Hosted:
Falcon LogScale Cloud requires no installation, with the service deployed within a private, secure SaaS solution. The Hosted service is automatically upgraded to the latest version of Falcon LogScale and enables you to ingest data from your servers into a secure data repository.
Falcon LogScale Self-Hosted installation enables you to deploy Falcon LogScale on your own infrastructure. A Self-Hosted install can be completed on bare metal, virtual instances, or a variety of different container-based deployments using Kubernetes. Self-Hosted installation can be to a single node or multiple nodes within a cluster.
For all installations, your Falcon LogScale deployment is managed through a web-based interface. The web interface can be used to monitor all of your Falcon LogScale servers, query your data, create dashboards and views, and configure alerts for your incoming data.
Trying Falcon LogScale
This guide consists of two separate sections designed to demonstrate how to use the Falcon LogScale environment, and then support you sampling Falcon LogScale's capabilities using your own data:
Introduces you to the basic components of Falcon LogScale, and takes you through the built-in Falcon LogScale tutorial.
For a more in depth guide to the different systems in Falcon LogScale, this section will guide you through the process of ingesting your own data into Falcon LogScale, running sample queries, creating dashboards, and encourages you to understand the Falcon LogScale interface.
