Settings, Shortcuts, and Documentation

Repository Settings

From within your repository, the Settings tab enables you to configure key settings for your repository. The page is divided into a number of sections:

General settings include your name and other identifying information, and the ability to configure your data retention settings for the repository.

Access Control maintains what users have access to the repository.

Ingest allows you to configure ingest tokens, block data ingest, control data sources, and configure listeners for ingesting specific data types.

Egress settings allow you to configure the archive of ingested logs into Amazon S3, and forward events ingested into LogScale to other systems (Self-Hosted only)

Other settings enable access to the Interactions overview page, and enables changing the repository name or deleting the entire repository altogether using ‘Danger Zone'.

Packages settings involve the creation, configuration, and installation of packages. For more information, visit our documentation space for Packages.

Note

The exact list of available options in Settings will depend on a user's permissions and the repository in question. For example, system repositories cannot be deleted, and so the Danger Zone option will not be shown. A user's sandbox also cannot be deleted, and is not configurable with multiple users.

General Account Settings

To access and make changes to your account, click on the ‘person' icon on the top right of the screen. Then select Manage Your Account. To return to the homepage, click on the Falcon icon at the top left of the page.

Keyboard Shortcuts

LogScale supports a number of keyboard shortcuts that make it easier to navigate around the user interface, and also make editing queries and text easier.

Among these, the Jump Panel allows jumping to any repositories or dashboards. From anywhere within the user interface, press Ctrl+O and start typing the item you want to filter:

For the full list of shortcuts you can use in LogScale, see the Keyboard Shortcuts dedicated documentation.

Documentation and Interactive Tutorial

To access the documentation and the interactive tutorial easily from within the UI, click the Help icon on the top right of the screen. Then select Documentation (it will get you to this documentation library) or Tutorials to access the interactive tutorial. This built-in tutorial is a good way for walking through and getting familiar with the User Interface; it is described in detail at The Interactive Tutorial with explanations on how to use it.
