FAQ: Are shared secret URLs safe?

Shared secret URLs are as safe as any shared secret. However, if anyone has the URL, they will have read-only access. This may or may not be acceptable for an organization - if so, there are audit logging and GDPR considerations to account for. It may be necessary to know which users had access to what and when. Whether or not this configuration is in use, we recommend limiting access to LogScale-equipped machines with a firewall or similar, to limit the impact of URLs falling into the wrong hands.
