Troubleshooting: Elastic API Port numbers

Condition or Error

Using using a log-shipper with LogScale that uses the Elasticsearch port, the correct port should be used depending on the LogScale target and where it is hosted.

  • Log shippers cannot communicate with LogScale

  • LogScale doesn't receive data from log shippers

Causes

  • The default port used for Elasticsearch is port 9200, while the default port for use with LogScale Cloud is 443.
