The following table provides some general guidelines on levels of access required depending on role:

LogScale relies on a Kafka cluster to keep LogScale running, so it is important to monitor your Kafka cluster (Use Insights dashboards).
LogScale Cluster Administrator

Evict and manage nodes (see note 2)

LogScale monitoring

Query administration (monitoring, managing quotas and blacklists)

Manage root accounts

Root privileges for the LogScale user

Monitoring is done through the insights dashboards.

Collaboration with the System Administrator is needed for node management and eviction.

    LogScale Organization Administrator

    Create and manage repositories and views

    Create and manage users, roles, security policies, identity providers, IP filters, organization tokens

    Data administration (managing data retention and ingestion)

    Admin rights for the managed organization For clusters with only one organization, this role is often combined with the Cluster administrator role.
