Provisioning

When you establish an infrastructure that can contain an operating system platform, as well as basic system devices (e.g., network interfaces), this may be called provisioning. This can include also setting how the system, data and resources, will be accessed and by whom.

An example of provisioning is to create a server instance on Amazon AWS. You might use one or more AWS Instances for installing Humio — either as stand-alone systems, or a cluster of nodes.

When you are provisioning an instance through AWS or with other such services, there are certain parameters and settings you may want to consider. See Instance Sizing.
